Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Society of New Brunswick & Nova Scotia – Equipment Loan Program
Our Equipment Loan Program is designed to help people cope with the daily challenges of decreasing mobility and independence. By obtaining basic and essential assistive devices at no charge, we hope to reduce the financial burden and enhance the quality of life of those living with ALS. This includes mobility equipment, lifts, beds & accessories, bathroom aids, and communication devices.
Canadian Red Cross New Brunswick – Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) – Short Term Loan Program
The Canadian Red Cross Short Term Health Equipment Loan Program allows people to return home from hospital earlier and gives independence and dignity to those in palliative care. Individuals can receive aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, bath seats, benches, commodes and toilet seats, crutches and canes, bed handles and other durable medical equipment.
Canadian Red Cross New Brunswick – Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) – Specialized Equipment Program
This program provides customized mobility aids to New Brunswickers residing in Long Term Care facilities and to seniors residing in New Brunswick.
Department of Social Development & Easter Seals New Brunswick – Health Services Mobility and Adaptive Equipment Loan Program
The Mobility and Adaptive Equipment Loan Program loans specific mobility and adaptive equipment to eligible clients of the Department to support them in the performance of their activities of daily living and enable them to live and be cared for safely.
Equipment may be loaned through the Recycling Program, which is jointly administered with Easter Seals NB, or it may be purchased to loan, when recycled equipment is not available.
Cost limits exist for most equipment to ensure that the program operates as cost effectively as possible. Therefore only basic and/or functional medical needs can be addressed and equipment can only be exchanged when it is no longer safe or medically appropriate.
All equipment must be required for use in the client’s home environment and prescribed by an occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
Easter Seals New Brunswick – Personal Services Program (PSP)
The Personal Services Program assists individuals in the province of New Brunswick who have no ability to rent or purchase equipment, no medical coverage, and no other agency is able to provide the services required. Although ESNB is known for loaning mobility equipment, we also offer financial assistance for travel to attend medical appointments and to purchase items we cannot recycle (e.g., orthopedic footwear).
Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada – Quality of Life Grants
There’s a wide range of devices available to help people with MS manage symptoms, improve their daily lives and remain independent. The Quality of Life grants provide funds to help people access these devices.
Funds from the program will be put towards the purchase of mobility equipment, safety - aids and assistive technology devices. It can not be used for treatments or to pay for ongoing costs involved with using the equipment.
Ministry of Justice British Columbia – Victim Services and Crime Prevention Division – Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP)
The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) assists victims, immediate family members and some witnesses in coping with the effects of violent crime. It provides financial benefits to help offset financial losses and assist in recovery.
Muscular Dystrophy Canada – Equipment Program
Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s Equipment Program has assisted thousands of Canadians to access the equipment needed to enhance their quality of life. By working with other funders and the government, we share resources to best leverage donor dollars to cover the costs of assistive devices, equipment and accessible technology.
