Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Canada Equipment Program – Ontario Funding Assistance Program for Leases of Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Equipment – ADP for Electric/Power Wheelchairs
ALS Canada helps people diagnosed with ALS to cope with the daily challenges of decreasing mobility and communication ability and to help with retaining independence. Access to equipment and assistive devices is essential for your safety, comfort and functioning as a person living with ALS.

- Funding assistance programs for some leased and rented equipment

Canadian Hemophilia Society – Hemophilia Ontario
Financial Assistance Available to Hemophilia Ontario Members
Financial assistance is available to Hemophilia Ontario members who demonstrate need with expenses incurred in the care, treatment, or prevention of a bleeding disorder. Requests must demonstrate they are directly related to a bleeding disorder, and may require support from the applicant’s HTC team in some cases. Equipment covered includes walkers and crutches.
Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) – Home Health Equipment Loans & Personal Care and Comfort Products
We understand the stress you feel after receiving a cancer diagnosis and the anxiety and questions that follow. The Cancer Assistance Program’s services are practical and tangible in nature. They have a focus on removing barriers and creating access, promoting personal safety, reducing or eliminating financial burden and offering individuals with cancer the opportunity to live more comfortably, with dignity and improved emotional health. Our goal is to help you live as comfortably as possible at home while you navigate this journey.
Our services include:
Home health equipment loans
Wheelchairs, transport chairs, commodes, rollators, bed/bath rails, and much more.
Personal care and comfort items
Nutritional supplements, mastectomy garments, wigs and wig care items, and incontinence items.
Lions Foundation of Manitoba & Northwestern Ontario
Lions Foundation Helping Hands Program strives to ease the financial burden many families face when dealing with medical issues that are not covered by Provincial Health Care.
We provide financial assistance, including for:
- Obtaining mobility equipment, prosthesis, and medical appliances
Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services Ontario – Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) Disability-Related Benefits & Extended Health Benefits
ODSP provides many health benefits and disability-related benefits. These benefits can help you with many different types of costs, including health, dental, vision, assistive devices, and other expenses related to disability or medical conditions.
Ministry of Health & Long Term Care Ontario – Assistive Devices Program (ADP)
The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) helps people with long-term physical disabilities pay for customized equipment, like wheelchairs and hearing aids.
The ADP also helps cover the cost of specialized supplies, such as those used with ostomies.
Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada – Quality of Life Grants Ontario & Nunavut
There’s a wide range of devices available to help people with MS manage symptoms, improve their daily lives and remain independent. The Quality of Life grants provide funds to help people access these devices.
Funds from the program will be put towards the purchase of mobility equipment, safety - aids and assistive technology devices. It can not be used for treatments or to pay for ongoing costs involved with using the equipment.
Muscular Dystrophy Canada – Equipment Program Ontario & Nunavut
Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s Equipment Program has assisted thousands of Canadians to access the equipment needed to enhance their quality of life. By working with other funders and the government, we share resources to best leverage donor dollars to cover the costs of assistive devices, equipment and accessible technology.
Ontario Federation of Cerebral Palsy – Assistive Devices Program
Our Support Programs are focused on helping children and adults with cerebral palsy thrive in their communities.
Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Ontario – Independent Living & Prosthetic and Assistive Devices Program
The WSIB may authorize the purchase of one or more health care products that fall into the category of health care equipment/supplies when an injured worker requires the health care product(s) as a result of a work-related injury/disease.
