From Canada Cares:
"The search is on for exceptional caregivers across Canada. In celebration of National Caregiver Day, which occurs on April 7, Canadians are being asked to nominate a family or professional caregiver for a unique caregiver award and explain what the caregiver would do with $10,000. It's part of a unique program, called Canada Cares (www.canadacares.org), that supports and celebrates caregivers. The awards, which will be presented both regionally and nationally, will recognize 10 exceptional caregivers five family members and five professionals in four regions: Western, Central, Atlantic and Northern Canada. If you know a caregiver who deserves recognition, we want to hear from you, said Caroline Tapp-McDougall, Chair of Canada Cares. The number of caregivers is growing at a rapid pace across the country, with one in four Canadian adults providing care at home for a loved one, and it's time to support and recognize people for their tireless, selfless efforts to help others in need."
Nominations can be submitted online, by mail or by video will be accepted until September 18, with winners announced in November. For details on how to nominate a caregiver, visit www.canadacares.org.
